World Admin Day 2022

Admin Careers in Health and Care

Administrative staff provide business support to clinical and non-clinical staff. For any admin role you need a good standard of literacy and numeracy. Employers usually ask for GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and maths. IT skills and qualifications are useful too as so many NHS systems are IT-based now.  You’ll be using your skills in time management, organisation and communication in any admin role.

There are plenty of opportunities to take further qualifications and move on in your career. You could stay in administration, perhaps by becoming a team leader or supervisor. You could go on to become an administration manager. You could also move into other wider roles, too. If you like figures, you could use your skills and experience to move into finance. Or if you’re keen on IT you could move into informatics.

Ideas for celebrating Admin Day

For all the hard work they do, Administrators deserve a day of recognition and appreciation each year. This year, try some of these ways to celebrate World Admin Day to let them know how much you appreciate their help.

  1. Give a personal card
  2. Get them a plant or flower
  3. Decorate their desk
  4. Take them to lunch
  5. Bring them special coffee in the morning
  6. Write a bunch of compliments on different note cards and hide them in their office
  7. Publicly recognise them on your company’s intranet or social media
