NUH are on track to be the Large Employer of the Year!

Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust are finalists for Large Employer of the Year at the Derbyshire & Nottinghamshire Apprenticeship Awards!

The Derbyshire & Nottinghamshire Apprenticeship Awards finalists have been decided and posted.

The Large Employer of the year category was open to all employers across Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire who employer over 250 staff members and offer apprenticeships. And within these hundreds of employers NUH are one of the six finalists. To be entered into these awards NUH gave an overview of their extensive apprenticeship programme, the number of apprentices they employ (within their 18,000+ employees) and a walkthrough of the many training pathways within the trust.

Alongside their application to achieve their top spot with the other businesses they:

  • Provided evidence of the benefits that the apprenticeships have brought to the trust as well as how the apprentices benefit from training with NUH
  • Detail what NUH think makes their apprenticeship programme(s) better than the rest.
  • Demonstrate NUH’s widening participation team’s on-going commitment to providing opportunities to apprentices and plans for the future of the apprenticeship programme(s).

These awards are always a collective effort, and involve many different team members, from those supporting the administration of Apprentices onto programme, to those working alongside Apprentices and supporting their development in their roles. We do some fantastic work enabling the progression, training and development of our new and existing workforce, and we always look to the future and how we can do more. We strive to be better, whilst acknowledging the hard work done to get us to this point.

Nottingham University Hospitals have always been highly commended for their work and apprenticeship programmes and pipelines. Hopefully NUH will win the Large Employer of the Year award for 2022 in order to be rewarded for their hard work and commitment to apprenticeship pathways into healthcare in order to make careers in healthcare more accessible.
